Benchmark.

This small bench was designed after the european parliament ruled against smoke in public spaces. The result was a lot of smokers had to reach the outside of a restaurant or bar to have a smoke, thus populating streets, leaning agains walls and cars. I decided to create a high bench, easy to stack, in order to give those people something to rest on. The concept was appreciated by Slide Design, and they decided to put into production. Unfortunately, the sales department decided that concept was too avantgarde and asked me to bring the dimensions to a sensibly lower (and common) level, and this is the result. I’m still convinced there’s room in the market for a high bench, though.
